Who’s Compact Space, and why should you care? Well, Compact Space is a band featuring Christian Eigner, Daryl Bamonte and Florian Kraemmer. The first two should sound familiar to any and all Mode fans. The trio started writing together in 2008. The first single ‘Push Push’ is available on iTunes and Amazon right now (link below), and a remix by Andrew Phillpott is still to come, and the album is due to be released at the end of the year. Both album and single were produced by Christian and mixed by Paul PDub Walton.
I just received the single, and I’m now trying to come to terms with it’s plethora of awesomeness. Once I’ve come down, and regained the ability to put words together coherently, I’ll post a little mini-review. In the mean time, head on over to the band’s MySpace to hear ‘Push Push’ and two other songs for your soon-to-be-hooked selves.

Compact Space is a band featuring Christian Eigner, Daryl Bamonte and Florian Kraemmer. The first single from the trio, "Push Push", is available now on iTunes and Amazon with a remix by Andrew Phillpott to come. An album is expected by the end of the year. Both the album and the single were produced by Christian Eigner and mixed by Paul PDub Walton. You can hear the song (and 2 other ones) at the band's MySpace page. The track itself surfs on minimal electro but with very analog synth hooks plastered allover it. Check it out, it might just be your cup of tea! Content Continues Below
While Florian Kraemmer will not immediately ring a bell to many, the first two members will probably make some sense. Christian Eigner has been performing with Depeche Mode's live band since 1997, as drummer, occasional backing vocalist and, more recently, occasional keyboard player on 2009's Tour of the Universe. He has also co-written Depeche Mode tracks with singer Dave Gahan and programmer Andrew Phillpott since 2005 and also co-produced Gahan's 2007 solo effort "Hourglass".
Daryl Bamonte has been working for bands like Depeche Mode and The Cure in the past. In 1994, when Depeche Mode's Andrew Fletcher left the tour, it was Daryl who replaced him for the second leg of the US Devotional Tour, as well as 6 shows in South America. In 1995, Daryl left the Mode gang and began working for The Cure, alongside his older brother, Perry Bamonte who was lead guitarist at the time.
Florian Kraemmer worked with Eigner on his 2005 album "Recovery".
