Imposter is a collection of songs from Dave Gahan & Soulsavers. Dave and Soulsavers didn't write these songs, but listened to them, studied them, and gave them new life.
Recorded at the legendary Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, these versions of songs you know and some you might not range from sparse to lush, somber to joyful. The choices and sequencing were deliberate and meaningful. It shines a light on the enduring strength of poignant lyrics and well-executed melodies.
Imposter is a reflection of Dave's life, a story told by others, but in his own distinct voice.
Depeche Mode, an electronic pop band formed in 1980 in Basildon near London by Vince Clarke, Martin Gore, Dave Gahan and Andrew Fletcher. A long runner on New Wave with a career spanning more than a quarter of a century and a record of selling nearly 100 million singles / albums worldwide. Frontman Dave Gahan, who is extremely popular as a vocalist, will release his fourth solo work "Inposter" for the first time in six years since "Angels & Ghosts" (not released in Japan) in 2015. It will be noticeable that the new work has changed from the original album making so far, and it is composed entirely of covers. The selection is very unique and interesting. It even seems like this might be like the soundtrack that has colored the life that Dave Gahan has experienced so far. Continuing from the previous work, this time it is a collaboration with British electronic duo Soulsavers, but it is a fine work that fully utilizes the gospel elements of Soulsavers.
