A literal ‘black celebration’ of Depeche Mode’s career with all albums across 14 CDs and four CDs of bonus material.
Sony will issue a new 18CD Depeche Mode box set called simply MODE, in November.
The box set collects all 14 studio albums and includes four bonus discs of chronological non-album material (b-sides, bonus tracks and non-album material).
This is a numbered, limited-edition set (no word on how limited) and is housed in a minimalist black cube, with each disc similarly enclosed in a black, heavyweight card wallet. The albums’ original covers have been re-interpreted in special black-on-black designs exclusive to the box set.
As well as the discs, this set comes with a 228 page, gilt-edged book containing all of Depeche Mode’s lyrics, compiled together for the first time. There is no mention of remastering at all, at this stage.
MODE will be released on 22 November 2019 and costs an eye watering £200+

Paul at SuperDeluxeEdition: Is the audio for some/all of the albums remastered at all? No word at all on the official DM pages about the audio tape sources and mastering etc.
Daniel Barassi: CD 1-10: 2006/7 DDP files. CD 11-14: existing masters. CD 15-18: various sources, mostly me pulling from master tapes (not recycling existing masters). Nothing was specifically "remastered" again. Be sure to note some highlights: Dressed In Black (Record Mirror), Flexi-Pop, etc.
Daniel Barassi: I've been working on this since January. It was finally announced today. Depeche Mode - "MODE". Now I can box up the CD-Rs, and await more vinyl test pressings.
bias: Are they real versions anyway? The full soundtrack version "Blue Angel" and its instrumental pair "Athmosphere Mix"? ("Joy Mix" is said to be the Jazz Mix, and "Berlin Mix" is said to be the soundtrack version.)
Daniel Barassi: These names do not appear on the master tape. Those are names taken from a bootleg.
Soundtrack version, Jazz Mix, and an acoustic are what I found. Acoustic is unreleased (and not accurately named).

Daniel Barassi: Technically, your YouTube link is for the 12" mix, not the 7" mix (like on the MODE box). I pulled the 7" mix from the original master tape. There's a double kick around 12-13 seconds in.
Daniel Barassi: Working on the SOFAD singles (The 12" Singles) last week, comparing the cutting files to the original 12" singles, the originals are way into the red. The people cutting for Mute back in the day were really driving the volume into the red. If you look on older 12" singles, some of the run-out grooves are SUPER small. That is because with the extra volume, the grooves have to be farther apart.
Daniel Barassi: Vinyl really and truly sucks. Digital (uncompressed, both in file size and sonically) or CD (not brick wall mastered) are better delivery systems.
Remember, the new vinyl boxsets are all made from digital files, and the original vinyl was made from 16 bit / 44.1k 1630 digital tapes (since Violator). When I was trying to pick the best sounding tapes for Violator, the DATs held up far better than the analog tapes. Digital rules.
Daniel Barassi: MODE CDs (disc 1 -14) are EXACTLY THE SAME as the 2006/7 remasters.
