прошу ликбеза по "белым/металлическим" кольцам дисков из UK боксов 1-3.
сам располагаю:
- DMBX 1 MADE IN ENGLAND - все диски в боксе с "белыми" кольцами;
- DMBX 1 MADE IN ENGLAND - все диски в боксе с "металлическими" кольцами;
- DMBX 2 MADE IN ENGLAND - все диски в боксе с "белыми" кольцами кроме CD BONG5 (People Are People один с "металлическими");
- DMBX 2 MADE IN ENGLAND - все диски в боксе с "металлическими" кольцами кроме CD BONG7 (Blasphemous Rumours/Somebody один с "белыми").

Singles Box Sets | Complete list of all editions

As I've been trying to find the original 1991 UK singles box sets I've found out there seems to be quite many variations/editions of the boxes. In my list I've taken info from the discography, from Zambak's and Shinji's sites and from what I've discovered myself and read in this forum. If anyone has something to add then please do!

1) 1991 UK boxes - Matrix: DADC AUSTRIA. Some boxes have non-coloured rings on the discs (box #2-3), some have white (box #1 and part of some copies of box #2). (There also exist DADC CDs from box #1 with non-coloured rings, but these were sold seperately, it seems.) Digits on discs are in the same green colour as on the booklet. Ordinary CD booklets. UPC stickers on spine with UK cat.no (DMBX 1, DMBX 2 and DMBX 3). Sticker on the front of some copies of box #2 regarding the tracklist of Blasphemous rumours.

2) 1991 UK boxes released in Germany - sticker on box #1-2 with German cat.no (i.n.t. 892757 and 892.756) - I don't know about box #3. CDs manufactured by Sonopress - silver discs with boring design (no rings, no digits etc).

3) 1991 UK boxes with Benelux CDs manufactured by Indisc.

4) 1991 US paper boxes with printed white digits (no foil, no texture). Larger rectangular booklets in the size of a slim jewel case.

5) 1995/6 UK boxes - Matrix: MASTERED BY NIMBUS. All discs have metal rings and white digits. Sticker on front of Blasphemous rumours jewel case regarding its tracklist - however some boxes have its tracklist corrected and no sticker. Boxes look like the 1999 ones.

6) 1999 UK boxes - Matrix: NIMBUS (some with the new logo). Rings on all discs non-coloured, digits on discs in white. Corrected tracklist on Blasphemous rumours. "1" and "3" digits on box fronts look "worn out", the "2" digit is thicker than the original one but doesn't look worn out (see photo). UPC stickers on the back of the boxes (can anyone provide scans?!) - not on the spines. Booklets printed on lighter paper than original ones. 2 pages (with tracklisting) is mixed up in booklet #1. The "2" on booklet #2 is too light.

7) 1999 UK boxes released in Germany with German cat.no:s (INT972122, INT972123 and INT972124). (CDs manufactured in Germany?)

8) 2004 EU boxes 1-3. The boxes, booklets and discs are updated with the current Mute logo (the "box") and the boxes have the cat+upc no:s on the front instead of "MADE IN ENGLAND". Also, the tracklisting layout and the digit typeface of all discs are updated to look like the DMBX456 ones! The "1", "2" and "3" digits on the boxes are bolder than the original ones (but the booklets still have the originals). The boxes are sealed, they have black info stickers on the cellophane and small UPC stickers on the actual boxes. The discs all have metal rings and green digits! 2 pages (with tracklisting) is mixed up in booklet #1, just like on the 1999 edition.

9) 2004 EU boxes 4-6 - DMBX4, DMBX5 & DMBX6. Discs made by EMI UDEN, all have metal rings and green digits despite the box digits are blue this time. Boxes are sealed, they have black info stickers on the cellophane and small UPC stickers on the actual boxes.

10) 2004 US boxes 1-3. Cheap design again... But they still say "MADE IN USA". (Don't know about the booklets.)

11) 2004 US boxes 4-6. Cheap design as above... But they say "MADE IN USA". (Don't know about the booklets.)

Summary: If you as a hardcore collector want all boxes you'll end up with no less than 33 ones in your shelf... Or maybe just 30, if the UK 1995/6 and 1999 editions look exactly the same.
