Depeche Mode 12" vinyl singles collector's edition box set series continues with release of Construction Time Again | The 12" Singles and Some Great Reward | The 12" Singles on December 14, 2018

Construction Time Again | The 12" Singles and Some Great Reward | The 12" Singles contain reproductions of limited edition versions of releases showcasing rare tracks, alternate mixes, 7" vinyl versions, live songs and more. The Construction Time Again | The 12" Singles box includes three reproductions of limited singles which each feature four bonus live performances recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon on October 25, 1982. The Some Great Reward | The 12" Singles box includes select live recordings from the Liverpool Empire Theatre, recorded September 29, 1984.

The Depeche Mode 12" Singles Series will continue over the coming years, with plans to release boxes containing the singles from each of the band's albums in similar deluxe audiophile-grade collector's editions.

These sets are packaged in deluxe numbered boxes with reproductions of rare original UK marketing posters and download cards.

Along with the 12" singles, there was a download card included, allowing the buyer to download all the tracks as uncompressed 16 bit WAV files.

Also contained in the box set was a replica UK promo poster for "Blasphemous Rumours".

The boxes were made by Sony globally. Boxes sold in North America had a different card on the back of the box, with North American release credits and logos (Sire, Rhino).

Depeche Mode continue with their 12-inch vinyl box set reissue campaign with packages around the singles pulled from their third and fourth albums Construction Time Again and Some Great Reward.

As predicted when the first two box sets were announced back in June, the ante – and the price – has been upped this time around because while both 1983’s Construction Time Again and 1984’s Some Great Reward albums still only had three singles apiece, each of the new boxes contains SIX 180g vinyl records in order to replicate both the original UK 12-inch and the limited edition 12-inch singles with the latter normally offering new mixes, and in these early days, quite a few live tracks.

And what singles they were. While Depeche Mode would wait a few more years for the widespread critical plaudits received by long-players such as Music For The Masses and Violator, the singles circa 83-84 were almost uniformly excellent. ‘Get The Balance Right,’ ‘Everything Counts,’ ‘Love In Itself,’ ‘People Are People,’ ‘Master and Servant’ and ‘Blasphemous Rumours/Somebody’ was a brilliant run of 45s – arguably their best.

In the case of ‘Blasphemous Rumours’, the second 12-inch in the new Some Great Reward 12-inch singles box set actually replicates the seven-inch EP that was issued at the time. As before these boxes include a poster.

кароч, окончательно превратились в высасывателей бабла из потребителей одного и того же продукта, причем во всем - от дисков до концертов. все это из боксов и так можно спокойно купить, это не раритеты. по факту - старый продукт упаковывается в новые свежие фантики и продается по 15 кругу, как до этого подборки одних и тех же клипов по 3 раза выпускали на двд. концерты - та же фигня, одинаковые как киносеансы, с одними и теми заученные позами вокалиста - в одном месте спинкой к спинке с Гором, в другом - тоже подойти к Гору и типа гляделки "в моих глазах", оба - с наигранно-глупым видом, в третьем - типа с брезгливым видом стряхивать херню какую-то с плеча и тд. скука зевотная. и все это адовое г...нище на фоне полного исписания Гора - из трех трех последних албумов нормальных треков не наберется даже на 1 полный и дурацких потуг Гэана стать с чего-то песенником-кудесенником, которые невозможно слушать. пичаль, кароч, но объяснимая: возраст, упадок, слишком сытая и спокойная житуха в Санта-Барбаре и т.д. хотя масса людей в их возрасте тока набирает обороты и приходит в форму, но их форма пришлась на 86-98 гг., по инерции еще хватило до 2005, потом - все.

и кстати - поскольку начался новый коммерческий 4-летний цикл, через 2 года новый албум и тур. возможно, будет даже не албум, а "The Greatest Hits ", но на тур это не повлияет
